Veridea Group Receives Restoration Award

MARQUETTE – The Veridea Group is the recipient of the Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee’s 2015 Business and Commercial Improvement Award. The honor was presented for Veridea’s work on their Liberty Way campus.

Since beginning construction in 2012, the former abandoned commercial bakery site has undergone significant improvement and change. The mBank building was completed in 2013, and work is currently underway on the Staybridge Suites extended stay hotel, along with the new headquarters of Marquette-based Upper Peninsula Health Plan. The development is expected to be completed in late summer of 2016, and will contain more than 130,000 square feet of office and lodging space, over 200 below grade parking spaces, and direct access to Marquette’s bike path.

“We are honored to have been selected for this award,” said Michele Thomas, Veridea’s Director of Commercial Real Estate. “As developers it’s gratifying to know we have contributed something worthwhile to our City.”

Barb Kelly, co-chair of the Beautification and Restoration Committee cited Veridea’s commitment to downtown Marquette, their quality and innovation, and the transformation of the Washington Street corridor as reasons for the award.
