Project History

When local restaurateur Dan Torres approached Veridea about developing a second Marquette location for his popular Border Grill restaurant, the building at 800 N. Third Street was selected for its high visibility corner location. A series of uses over the course of a century had left the property lacking in character and in need of repair. Work began immediately to transform the site into a modern restaurant with seating for 50 people and a drive through pick-up window. Plans for the exterior called for restoration of the original brick fa├žade and awnings along with the installation of new storefront glass and doors. Interior changes included all new mechanical, plumbing, electricity, and restaurant safety features. Additionally, renovations were completed on the upstairs apartment. The restaurant continues to operate in the facility, which Veridea sold in early 2016 after six years of ownership.
