Country Inn and Suites Undergoes Renovation

MARQUETTE – The Country Inn and Suites, Marquette will soon have a fresh, new look thanks to an extensive property renovation scheduled to begin March 9.

Developed and operated by the Veridea Group, the hotel has been open since 2006. Veridea Vice President of Hospitality, Charles Holsworth, explained that a property improvement, or PIP, generally takes place every 8-10 years. The Country Inn and Suites PIP will include both interior and exterior changes.

“We will be refreshing the outside and installing new, updated signage,” Holsworth said. “On the inside, every surface and furnishing will be revamped or replaced. Our guest rooms will be fully renovated.”

Holsworth also noted that the hotel’s breakfast room will be expanded, adding to what he hopes will be an overall better experience for travelers.

“This renovation will allow us to continue to offer our guests the latest in hotel design and amenities,” Holsworth said. “We think guests will really enjoy the new contemporary lobby and breakfast areas, as well as the new guest rooms.”

Tom Hall Contracting of Munising will be the general contractor on the nearly $2 million project, and Myefski Architects of Chicago and Marquette did the design work. The renovation is expected to be completed by July 1. The hotel will remain operational during construction.
